This webpage is currently under construction. We hope to have a new and updated website available for viewing by the end of this month (March 2009). If you have any thoughts or ideas for the new website please feel free to email the webmaster -
crw6888@gmail.com
With the new site we hope to not only have an updated appearance, but also new information such as:
Important up-to-date news information pertaining to the Police Department and the City
Minutes from Board Meetings, Meetings with the Mayor/Council, and Meetings with the Chief and Assistant Chiefs of Police
Union Announcements - Events, etc.
The Union Board has also decided to create several special interest commitees within the Union to allow for greater officer participation on a volunteer basis. Some examples include a Political Action Committee (PAC) to handle all politically related issues, such as mayoral/council endorsements, political donations, and more; Social/Fundraising Commitee to handle the vending machines and other fundraising accounts/projects, and special Union events like the Christmas party. These committees are not all inclusive as others have been created or are in the works. A board member does not necessarily have to head a comittee and everyone is encouraged to participate! Our goal this year is to unify the police department. We would like to see the Union and other political groups within the department merge or commit to partnerships that benefit the officers. We would also like to host several gatherings each year, including the annual Christmas party, an Easter gathering, a Halloween party, and more...

Welcome to the home page of the new Pasadena Police Officer's
Union, the largest and strongest police employee organization
representing the men and women of the Pasadena Police Department,
Pasadena Fire Marshall's Office, Pasadena Fire Department,
and the Pasadena Marshall's Office. The PPOU was founded this
year when the PPPU and PPOA decided to merge into one voice
and one family. The PPOU comes with the specific purpose of
providing a voice for all officers of the Pasadena Police
Department through unified action and guided intelligence.
The PPOU will work to provide the best working conditions
and benefits for our members. With our commitment to success,
we are constantly striving to seek out new benefits and ways
to better serve our members. We regularly sponsor community
youth programs and school activities for children in our community.
We also have a Cops helping Cops fund which provides money
for officers who have been injured. If you have any questions
about our organization or wish to donate any funds, please
e-mail the link below and someone will contact you.

Law
Enforcement Code Of Ethics
As
a law enforcement officer, my fundamental duty is to serve the
community; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent
against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation
and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect
the constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and
justice.
I
will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all and will
behave in a manner that does not bring discredit to me or my agency.
I will maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or
ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the
welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both my personal
and official life. I will be exemplary in obeying the law and the
regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential
nature or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be
kept ever-secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance
of my duty.
I
will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices,
political beliefs, aspirations, animosities or friendships to influence
my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution
of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately
without fear or favor, malice or ill-will, never employing unnecessary
force or violence and never accepting gratuities.
I
recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and
I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to
the ethics of the police service.
I
will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating
myself before God to my chosen profession...law enforcement. I will
never engage in acts of corruption or bribery, nor will I condone
such acts by other police officers. I will cooperate with all legally
authorized agencies and their representatives in the pursuit of
justice.
I
know that I alone am responsible for my own standard of professional
performance and will take every reasonable opportunity to enhance
and improve my level of knowledge and competence.
